The Manly way to generate more Intelligence and brain power

Everybody wants to be intelligent, but no one wants to develop it. Intelligence is made and it is not something you are born with. For some people, the ability to be social and recognize social situations and act accordingly is Intelligence.  Intelligence is knowing how to get wealthy for a person who wants to dwell in luxury.  Intelligence is knowing how to get those six packs through diligent exercising.  Brain power is very subjective and you have to have your own definition of that. And you may have more than one definition across different areas of expertise.  One of the most generic form of brain power is called Presence of Mind.  And like any other brain power, it can be cultivated.  And here is how it can be done....... 1. Have more experiences You cannot sit in a room and think your way through life. You have to experience Life to live it with a heightened sense of being alive and hence with good brain power.  ...

The Hedonic Treadmill – Where running is the same as standing – How to not get stagnated in life and beaten in our own game - How to be happy and how to move on

Image
That's a huge title.  Wikipedia defines the Hedonic treadmill as such. “ ...as a person makes more money, expectations and desires rise in tandem, which results in no permanent gain in happiness.”  Now that the topic looks promising, let me tell you a little story. Five years ago, I had really terrible INTERNET. It was slow, with limited bandwidth. I had to carefully choose the websites I visited to about exceeding my bandwidth. I really wanted a high speed INTERNET. Then I got into a better plan which gave me an increase in speed. But then Bandwidth was always a problem. Then I got into a plan which not only increased speed but also gave me unlimited bandwidth within a limited period within a day. But then I had to queue all the videos I wanted to see until this particular period when I got unlimited bandwidth and that was kind of irritating. The I got into an Unlimited plan. But there was a little compromise on speed. Now I was unlimited ban...

Pushing the limits! – How much is too much?

I dare do all that may become a man; who dares do more is none. -           William Shakespeare - Macbeth Act 1. I bought a laptop somewhere before two years. It was fast at the start, but the more programs and stuff it got loaded onto it, the more slower it got. The more slower it got, the more desperate I got, every time I switched it on. It's just that too much crap got over it over a period of time. Software I didn’t even use anymore was still on the hard drive. So much shit got accumulated and it was one hell of a mess to start correcting. So, I did a very easy thing. I formatted it. Got a fresh version of windows running and then installed the necessary software only whenever it was needed.  However I still think that over a period of time, more crap is still going to get accumulated and thus will go out of control once again. I can say that much confidently; the crap in the making. When I run too many applic...

A word on Personal Integrity - The real way to obtain integrity!

If you look up a typical dictionary, you'll find the following meaning for integrity. Definition 1: "The state of being whole and undivided:" Definition 2: "Moral soundness" Now you might be wondering why I am quoting these. Well, well, a few days ago I stumbled across a webpage which claimed to advice people on the "Steps to achieving integrity" . I literally "Stumbled" upon this page through stumbleupon , a great place to find new ideas (though occasionally it sucks, but sometimes, makes my day). The webpage had usual shit which they write in self help books. It said that the following to be followed for achieving integrity: 1. Always be honest. 2. Keep up your word. 3. Don't procrastinate. 4. Be punctual. 5. Be humble all the time and let everybody else take away your opportunity. 6. More shit coming up...... stay tuned. It's gonna turn smelly. I always find in the English language that word...

How to make the best, simple and most Effective To-do list in the whole wide world and a become a badass in productivity

I am gonna give my opinion about to-do lists. The simpler the to-do list, the more better it is to manage and follow through. I write down whatever I got to do, whenever I remember something, on a piece of paper I carry around. I have to remember to carry just a pencil and a paper. When I complete the task, I strike the sentence/task through. Simple. No hassles. No annoying reminders. I like the feel it gives me whenever I complete the task and strike it through, using the pencil; Makes me want to do more. Now after my Android Phone Pitched in, I found an app replacement for the paper and pencil. The application is, "Do it tomorrow". Search it up in Google play and download it. The interface is pretty simple and similar to my paper model. I add entries in the application, and when I complete them, I can strike them through. Whatever I did not complete today automatically gets moved on to tomorrow. Simple. Flawlessly simple. Try it out. I...

Response ability - On being a Man - A father's day tribute

One of the duties that every man has to go through in his life is Responsibility; Being responsible for his own shit, for his girl friend, for his kids, for his family, and for his own god damned life. He got to be strong for a lot of people. It is very important for me to say that some English words have gotten skewed and twisted and sometimes they begin to mean something different from what they were originally intended to do. Responsibility which once meant "response ability", the ability to handle shit and take care of it no matter whatever be it, with courage; has changed to "responsibility" as in when it can be used as a excuse to blame a person (A) and relieve another person (B) of(f) all the dirt. A boy while growing learns "response ability" from the men around him. This can be his uncle or Father or any strong male role model, and sometimes for the lack of men, a woman. The young age is where a solid foundation can be put for him f...

The process and cycle of Change in the world and how to change for good!

I was thinking about how buildings were imploded. It's a process in which buildings are brought to the ground with explosives. They charge the building with ammo after identifying all the correct spots and on one fine day they blow the trigger. The entire building comes down. Just like that. A second ago there was a building, and a second later there it is no more. It occurred to me that change never happens gradually, it only happens instantaneously, contrary to popular belief. You might argue that they have been charging and inspecting the building for an entire week before it was blown, and that should be counted too. But I'll argue back with the possibility that that was only the process of change and not change itself. After a week, if they didn’t blow the trigger, the building would still be there, intact. Consider the orbitals in an atom. The electron jumps from one orbital state to another. But how does the electron jump from one orbital to another?...

Best Dialogues from V for Vendetta and their meanings and Quotations

“Creedy : Die! Die! Why won't you die?... Why won't you die? V : Beneath this mask there is more than flesh. Beneath this mask there is an idea, Mr. Creedy, and ideas are bulletproof.” V for Vendetta is one of my favourite movies and I thought I’d put up a collection of good quotes from it. The Quotes are taken from IMDB Memorable Quotes, thanks to IMDB. The glory of an Idea! Evey Hammond : [ voiceover ] Remember, remember, the Fifth of November, the Gunpowder Treason and Plot. I know of no reason why the Gunpowder Treason should ever be forgot. But what of the man? I know his name was Guy Fawkes and I know, in 1605, he attempted to blow up the Houses of Parliament. But who was he really? What was he like? We are told to remember the idea, not the man, because a man can fail. He can be caught, he can be killed and forgotten, but 400 years later, an idea can still change the world. I've witnessed first-hand the power of ideas, I've seen people kill in the n...

You don't know where l've been, Lou!

“It was right then that I started thinking about Thomas Jefferson on the Declaration of Independence and the part about our right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. And I remember thinking how did he know to put the pursuit part in there? That maybe happiness is something that we can only pursue and maybe we can actually never have it. No matter what. How did he know that? “ - The Pursuit of Happyness All hell let loose in my life the moment I got an android smart phone. The new features and possibility of my rooted (I lost my warranty within a month) android kept me glued to it and enthralled me that I started getting addicted to the momentary happiness whenever there is an update or enhancement. I would go through several technical statistics. (Call me an out of control freak at the moment if you want to; and watch me not care as you read further) Like a deer running on a mountain range on a foggy day enjoying the blazing moist wind; to fall down the cli...

Internal Male anger

Have you seen the Movie Predator? The guys in the movie have this Calm demeanour as if they could explode in rage any second. Look at the conversations they have between them and I wonder why men these days don’t communicate like that. It’s a long lost art. It this, internal Male anger that kept them running like a powerful machine; in mind and body. Moving forward on my research I Google the term “Internal Male Anger”; only to find that it’s flooded with advice on how to control your anger; on how bad anger is; how it should be crushed to the depth until there is a huge bright light ray of love flowing from you all the goddamn time. Pages and pages of psychobabble shit to control once what were essential drive in every man. To hell suck with life. Am not sayin all anger is good. You get my point. Good boy. What man actually needs is not a tensionless state but rather the striving and struggling for a worthwhile goal, a freely chosen task. —VIKTOR E. FRANKL, Holocaus...
